a.       Write Lewis dot symbol atom.
b.       State octet rule & describe how atoms obtain octet config.
c.        Describe formation bond using Lewis dot symbol.
i.       Ionic @ electrovalent bond
ii.      Covalent bond
iii.        Dative @ coordinate bond

d.       Draw Lewis structure of covalent species with - , = & ≡ bonds.
e.        Compare bond length between - , = & ≡ bonds.
f.        Determine the formal charge & most plausible Lewis structure.
g.        Explain exception octet rule: incomplete, expanded & odd number e.
h.       Explain resonance

a.       Explain VSEPR
b.       Draw basic molecular shapes: linear, trigonal planar, tetrahedral, trigonal bipyramidal
                                                   & octahedral.
c.        Predict & explain
            i. Shapes molecule based VSEPR.
           ii. bond
d.       Explain bond polarity & dipole moment.
e.        Deduce polarity molecules based shapes & resultant dipole moment.
